Mixed Day for Hepburn:

Timaru’s Johnny Hepburn had a mixed weekend at round three of the Motorcycle Trader & News Road Race Championships held Feb 26/27 at Manfeild Autocourse, just north of Palmerston North. The 39 year old scrap metal dealer struggled all weekend with a dislocated neck and wasn’t able to campaign his SPV Kawasaki ZX6 as hard as he would have liked.

However with a fifth, a sixth and a seventh Hepburn was successful in protecting his third placing overall in the 600 Sports Production Championship. "Next weekend is a different meeting and I will be getting the neck fixed during the week," said Hepburn after racing.

Next weekend is the final round of the Motorcycle Trader & News Championships at Pukekohe Park, south of Auckland.

Hepburn is looking forward to resuming his battle with old foes, Harris, Stroud and Shirriffs.
