KAWASAKI TEAM GREEN - Press Release:

Mixed Day for Team Green at Paeroa:

With Timaru’s John Hepburn not attending round two of the "Battle of the Streets" at Paeroa last Sunday, the GREEN flag was held high by Auckland’s Lance Lowe on his Mt Eden Motorcycles ZX10 and Palmerston North’s Glen Williams on his AFC Motorcycles sponsored ZX10.

Lowe, who started the day fourth overall on the Formula Paeroa points table after a very successful Wanganui, was charging hard at the front of the field in race one until he and Whakatane’s Tony Rees (Yamaha) had a coming together at the end of the front straight. This left Lowe out of the points with a sore ankle and a damaged ZX10.
His crew worked extremely hard, but they were unable to get Lowe to the grid for the Robert Holden race, however he came back to finish a creditable sixth in the last Formula Paeroa race.

Meanwhile, Glen Williams had a very steady day with a sixth and a ninth in Formula Paeroa and a sixth in the Robert Holden.

In the smaller classes, Wellington’s Derek McAdam brought his Museum Hotel backed ZX6 home third in the two Formula Two races, while Carey Brier finished tenth and eleventh on his Hamilton Motorcycles ZX6.

The boys all came away from Paeroa in high spirits and are looking forward to the last two rounds of the Road Race Champs.
