Hi guys
Its been a struggle to get to a computer. Last week I sent an email out but
Katherine informs me that no one received it, so now I've got to spend the next
hour or so typing it again!!! I plan to have more regular access to a computer when
I return to England.
Well I've been testing the bike down in Gerona, close to Barcelona, at the Gas Gas factory. There is a test track out the back with a small MX track and a section through some trees. We have been making some good progress on the bike. The changes that I tried in NZ are good and are on the right track as everyone else seems to be moving in the same direction with their bike development over here. Thanks must go to Richard and Jock for getting the suspension sorted. Morrie also spent several hours with me helping me dial it in.
While I am on the subject of thanks, there were a lot of people who helped
me over my time back in NZ.;
Darbis have been very good to me over the three seasons that I have been riding the WEC, each time I am home they help me out.
SSangYong stepped up to the mark and lent me a Musso Ute while I was
home, an awesome bit of kit. This was a huge help as I had sold my van to help
pay for last years WEC.
MNZ and the High Performance course continued to help
develop me as a World Championship rider. Nick Reader was the man behind
that.
Thanks also to Justin Heke who again this year is in charge of my
personal training, constantly pushing my limits. I love it when he tries to
break me - and always succeeds.
Triumph NZ for suppling the bike to test.
Also
the two clubs I belong to, the Bush Riders and Manawatu Orion, top
clubs.
Finally, all the people who have helped me out wether it be financial
or just continued support, Olaf, The Brookers, Dunns, Rob Vandaberge, Mum and
Dad. Thanks a lot. I've missed a lot of you out, but I appreciate all the help you have given me......
As for me - I have twisted my ankle and will miss the first race I had
planned. But I will be back in action for the first Spanish race, the British and
then the WEC later next month.
Later,
Paul.
