Factory Rider Heads to NZ:

IRISH Supermoto Prestige Class champion last season, Greg Kinsella, (pictured in action) flies out to New Zealand this weekend to compete in the opening two rounds of the Kiwi Supermoto championships on February 27 and March 6, at Taupo and Taumarunui, on the north island.

The 25-year-old from County Wicklow, in the Republic of Ireland, is being taken down-under by VOR Factory Racing, a division of Moto Sports Unlimited, the VOR and TM distributors in New Zealand.

Kinsella, is currently the factory TM rider for Ireland and UK, and will be gifted a Factory VOR SM570RC with a prototype, hand-crafted frame designed for SM racing by world renowned Stramigioli (Gini) Giovanni, to race in the two rounds before returning to Ireland to continue his pre-season training and preparations for retaining his Irish crown and contesting the British championships on his factory 660cc and 450cc TMs, supplied by Electraction.

Greg, a former Irish motocross and grass-track champion, and son of former Irish road-racing champion Austin, said: "I am really excited to have been given this great opportunity as it will no doubt give me a chance to be well up to speed for the opening round of the Irish championship in Mondello Park on March 13, the week after I get back from New Zealand.

"I am determined to defend my title and am also looking forward to riding the factory VOR with such a special frame by the great man himself. "It's hard to judge just how stiff the competition will be on the far side of the world as there doesn't seem to be any cross over of competitors before, from either side.
"Preparation of the bike I will be riding is well underway as MSU’s technician Shane Raitt is furiously working away in the workshop to make sure that the hand built bike will be ready to take on the best that NZ has to offer."
