SUZUKI 2005 NATIONAL ENDURO ROUND ONE AT OPARAU:

The SUZUKI NZ 2005 NATIONAL ENDURANCE CHAMPIONSHIP sprung in to life last weekend in the hill country at Oparau near Raglan. The 150 kilometre course included a number of river crossings. There were 134 riders from all over the country vying for class and overall honours in the five round series.

Sean Clarke (Tokoroa) won all of the time trials to lead the Expert 2 Stroke Class and the overall championship after the first round. Clarke was pushed all the way in his class by the prominent young motocrosser trying his hand at Enduros, Michael Phillips (Rotorua) - who heads the leader board in the Kiwi Rider Junior Cup.

Clarke will take his lead over Mark Polard, Rob Howe and Steven Bird into Round Two,Wellington: on 26 February and organised by the Kapi-Mana club.
