Kawasaki Pennant Flys High at Woodville:

The Kawasaki Team Green Junior squad did exceptionally well at the New Zealand Motocross Grand Prix event held just outside Woodville over the 29/30 January weekend.

Cambridge’s Kirk Bezzant dominated the 15- 16 years 125cc class with two wins and a second and then went on to win the 125cc Champion of Champions race.

Taupo’s Brad Groombridge had a mixed weekend, in the 12-14 years 125 he took two fourths and a third to finish third over all.

In the 13-16 years 85cc Groombridge won his first race, was second in race two, but a mishap in the third race which relegated him to fifteenth, but he still came away second overall.

Cameron Dillon got three "holeshots" out of three starts in the 11-12 years 85cc and finished seventh in race one, third in race two and second in race three, giving him second overall for the day.

Logan Blackburn put in a very strong showing on his Bay City KX85 in the 8-10 years 85cc class, finishing with a third and two fourths to come home second overall in his class.

Young International, Errol Angoco from Guam riding AFC Motorcycles supported KX85, had a excellent day starting with a twenty-sixth, moving up to twenty-fifth in race two and finally finishing twelfth in race three giving him twenty-second place overall out of forty-three starts. Not bad for his first outing in the big leagues.
"It was a pleasure to host Errol and his family over the weekend and it was great to see him improve so much as the day went on," said Team Green’s Manager Mike Ramsey after the event.
