'Way Out Rides'
Return in 2005:

One of the ATV success stories of the year, trail rides specifically for ATV owners, will be back bigger and better next year with the help of Polaris. Family groups, farmers, weekend trail riders, hard-out sport riders … all kinds of ATV owners have enjoyed this year’s Polaris 'Way Out Rides'. A number of charities have benefited as a result. A series of six rides are already confirmed for the start of next year and more are in planning. The first is near Whakatane on Waitangi Day, Sunday 6 February.

“We are delighted to confirm our support for the 'Way Out Rides' through 2005,” commented the Marketing Manager of Polaris NZ: Neil Anderson. “Way Out Rides meet a real need, for ATV riders to get out into the back country on an event tailored to their needs. “ATVs and two-wheelers often don’t go well together on rides: the machines are ridden differently and they tend to tackle different terrain. “At the events we’ve organised over the past few months often a hundred ATVs of all makes turned out, so it’s clear Kiwi riders are looking for the opportunity,” Mr Anderson said.

“They pay a modest entry fee with all proceeds going to a charity in the local area … typically several hundred dollars is raised. “Riders need a helmet and boots, plus their four-wheeler. “It need not be a Polaris, we accept all makes,” Mr Anderson explained. “But of course we have the latest Polaris models there and people can see the benefits of our specialised recreation ATVs, the toughest, smoothest riding, hardest working ATVs money can buy. “At Polaris we concentrate on providing The Way Out, and these rides are a great example of it,” he added.

ATV owners interested in joining the Whakatane Way Out Ride can contact Ross Ferguson at Polaris dealership Jacks Machinery, phone (07) 308 7299, or Tim Benseman (06) 863 5001.
