Bruce Anstey Returns in Style:

The New Zealand Motorcycle Grand Prixs were run today, Sunday 5 December, in adverse weather conditions at Ruapuna Raceway, just outside Christchurch. The rain showers, which came and went all day made it very tricky for riders to decide on which tyres to use.
TT winner Bruce Anstey back to his Wellington home for this season’s racing, dominated the Superbike Class on his Suzuki GSX-R1000. Anstey got excellent starts in both wet races today and led from the green flag to the chequed.

Defending champion, Hamilton’s Andrew Stroud messed up the start of the Grand Prix, similarly to Saturday and again ended up on the grass at turn one.

Honda’s Jared Love had an excellent day on his CBR1000 with a second and a third, while Suzuki’s Ray Clee finished the day second in the points after also getting a second and a third.

Yamaha’s Tony Rees had problems adapting to his wet tyres and could not add to his win of yesterday.

The 600 Sports Production Class is extremely close, with three different winners over the weekend, New Plymouth’s Shaun Harris took race one on his Suzuki, Timaru’s Johnny Hepburn took race two for Kawasaki and Hamilton’s Andrew Stroud won the Grand Prix on another Suzuki.

The Motorcycle Trader & News Championship now moves to Teretonga, outside Invercargill for round two next weekend.
