Superbike Class Set to Sizzle:

With the 2004/05 Motorcycle Trader & News Road Race Championships set to kick off with the New Zealand Grand Prix this weekend, December 4/5 at Ruapuna Raceway, just outside Christchurch, this year’s Superbike class looks ready to rock.

Reigning champion, Hamilton’s Andrew Stroud is again on Suzuki and is running his own 'Brother Suzuki' Team along side John Britten Memorial event promoter, Red Fenton’s 'Triple R Suzuki' Team, who has acquired the services of New Zealand’s number two, Auckland’s Ray Clee, both as an engine builder and rider.

The Honda camp has secured the services of "Young Guns" Hamilton’s Jared Love and Tauranga’s Dean Fulton on the new CBR1000s.

While Kawasaki will have past Formula Three Champion Oamaru’s Andy Bowell, Palmerston North’s Glen Williams and wheelie king, Auckland’s Lance Lowe, on their ZX10s.

We will also see the return of Tony Rees and his new Yamaha R1 - after a year off.
Not forgetting the hard charging Brian Bernard from Wanganui, whose Suzuki team is now sponsored by SsangYong New Zealand.

With this depth of field the racing can be nothing but sensational.
