Airoh Helmets and Townley Confirm Deal for 2005.

Newly crowned MX2 World champion, Ben Townley, has confirmed a 2005 deal with Airoh helmet president Antonio Locatelli in Bergamo Italy. Townley has given the Italian helmet manufacturer its first MX2 World title and the two parties look forward to pursuing another title in the MX1 class.

B.T. was given a personalized tour of the 10.000m2 factory by Mr. Locatelli. “I am proud to say that AIROH is one of the few helmets really MADE IN ITALY!” explained the Airoh president. Townley was in awe of the technology and development that goes into making his very own Townley Replica. The carbon kevlar helmet make it one of the lightest in the world.
“I didn’t realize how much technology and work goes into making my helmet. I got to see how they mould the Carbon Kevlar. What most impressed me was the CNC water jet that cuts the shell into form,” explained the world champ.

BT felt right at home in the factory and did not hesitate to join the production line among the Airoh staff, much to their approval.

“The Airoh helmet fits unbelievable well and it gives extra support at the back of the neck which a lot of other helmets don’t do. The best feature is the weight and believe me after a gruelling 40 minute moto I wouldn’t want to trade my Airoh for any other helmet in the world. I have had some big crashes on my way to my first world title and I’m really glad that Airoh has been there to protect me,” admitted the Kiwi.

About the signing of the new 2005 agreement with Ben, Mr Locatelli had the following to say: “I can just express my satisfaction for this relationship which represents a solid point for AIROH’s growing. AIROH is always looking to the best for the evolution of its helmets and Townley is of course the best rider we could have in MX1 for next year. Thanks to the strong character of this young guy who has already demonstrated to be a very fast rider, (also with a car especially when he test drove my Porsche), extremely professional besides his young age. What else should I say, Ben is a talented guy who will have the opportunity to be successful and demonstrate his value also in next year - 2005. So good luck and let us see the next season results!”
