SI MX Champs, Bartletts Creek, Marlborough:

The Marlborough Club hosted the SI MX champs at Moston Wadsworth's farm over the weekend (13-14th November) and found the 2004 South island Champions.
Riders came from all over the country - from Warkworth in the North and Queenstown in the south.

Unfortunately this event clashed with the Southern series which kept the deep south riders at home - although Brad Norton raced the southern series on Saturday and drove 1,000Kms to Blenheim overnight to race the 2nd day!

The rolling track started out all grass, then bare dirt, followed by ruts and berms and dust. A few showers on Sunday posed a new series of challenges with slippery ground, a bit of mud and found some true Champions who can excel in all conditions

Standout performances came from the Juniors. Mason Wilkie RM85 /125 won both his classes and both Junior feature races, his only real 125 challenger, Tommy Madams won the first race, only to be forced out in round 2 after a high-speed crash damaged his bike.
8-10 Yrs; Blake Hardman impressed with 5 wins from 5 starts.
12-14yrs 125s; Jesse Donnelly had 4 wins from 5 starts

Seniors; Scott Columb RM 125/250 and Justin McDonald CRF250/CR250 battled it out in the 125 and 250 class with Columb taking the 250 class and the feature race, showing that the 2 stroke 125s are still VERY competitive, missing the title by 1 point!!
McDonald claimed the 125 title and he was 2nd in the feature race.
