Ben Townley at Wanganui:

New Zealand's world motocross champion Ben Townley has confirmed he will be at the Ssangyong Wanganui Cemetery Circuit 2004 racing on Boxing Day.
Townley, 19 years of age, won this years MX2 World Motocross Championship riding for KTM and he will be returning to New Zealand in mid-December to spend a few weeks with his family in Taupo.

Ben has accepted the offer of the Cemetery Circuit 2004 organisers to be a guest at Wanganui's high profile Boxing Day "Battle of the Streets" road race meeting. His championship wining KTM bike, which has been gifted to him by the Austrian-based KTM factory, is already in New Zealand and will be at Wanganui on display. It is expected that Ben will be able to ride the bike in a Lap of Honour.

Cemetery Circuit 2004 Event Manager, Ray Whitham welcomed the news today. "This will be the perfect occasion for all motorcycle fans and sports fans generally to see Ben and show him their appreciation for what he has achieved. Believe me, Ben will also find it a huge experience."

As well as being available for signing autographs Ben will also make the podium presentations for the first feature race on the day.
