Most will be aware that Chris Birch, the current NZ Enduro champion has made the major move to the UK to pursue his dreams - where he will most probably clang bars with his fellow Kiwi, Paul Whibley once again.

Chris has a really great Website: that you may wish to bookmark.
Here is his latest report:

Hello Everyone

We’re now in Wales at My Aunt and Uncle’s place in Guilsfield Powys. By accident we apear to have arrived in a realy good area for riding. There’s a guy in the village who has won the british sidecar MX champs several times,The Atherton family (DH Mountain biking legends) live down the road and Garaint Jones (multi time British Enduro champion) and family live in the next valley.

Both Monica and I have started working, Monica is temping in Welshpool and I’m working at a Scania truck garage in Oswestry. We’ve only been working for a day so it’s a bit early to say what it’s like.

On the motorbike front things are moving along OK. I am racing the last big event of the year, the John Banks (not the ex mayor) Enduro on a KTM400EXC in two weeks time. The bike is a test bike from Jonothan Bentmans MotoX magazine. It’s going to be a challenge, having never raced a four stroke before and with being off the bike for over a month, but hopefully I will be able to impress somebody!

I have been keeping my fitness up with lots of walking in the hills and a fair bit of mountain biking, including a pretty frantic ride around central London, got to do a mean wheelie around Piccadilly circus though!

This weekend there is a Dirt bike exhibition in Telford so I’m going armed with CV’s to try and drum up some support!
