KAWASAKI TEAM GREEN
Press Release:

Good Day for Team Green at Taupo Extravaganza:

Kawasaki Team Green joined the rest of the motocross elite, in the battle against the rain at Digger McEwen Park for the Taupo Motorcycle Club’s annual Labour Weekend Motocross Extravaganza on Sunday October 25.

Cambridge’s Michael Cotter raced his Mr Motorcycles supported ’05 Kawasaki KX 250R straight out of the box and was immediately on the pace in the National 250cc class, finishing second to high flying International Daryl Hurley (Hawera) on his Suzuki.
Teammate Brad Norton of Christchurch came home thirteenth on his Superior Motorcycles KX 250M.

Rotorua’s Michael Phillips had an excellent day on his Patterson & O’Connor KX250F, battling with Luke Burkhart from Masterton (Suzuki) for the lead of the National 125cc class. Phillips had his share of problems but a broken foot brake lever and several get-offs didn’t deter him from coming home second overall behind Burkhart, with two seconds and a third.
Young teammate Jesse Wiki of Hamilton finished eighth on his Hamilton Motorcycles supported KX 250F.

Whakatane’s Joel Burns, inspired by his recent second place in his class in the Suzuki 6-Hour Challenge at Hawkes Bay, took his Underwood & Wilkins ’05 KX250F to a convincing win in the Expert’s 125cc class with three great firsts.

All the members of Kawasaki Team Green came away from Taupo pumped up for next weekend’s National Championship final round at Harrisville, just outside Pukekohe.
