Yamaha Press Release:

Darryl King wants you to beat him? There can be no other explanation for it.

Surely that’s why when he’s not winning motocross or supercross titles for Yamaha, the 35-year-old former world vice-champion is giving away his trade secrets. The Subway Yamaha rider, current Australian Mister Motocross No.1 and a hot contender for the New Zealand championships this season as well, recently conducted one of his MXDK Style training schools at Pukekohe, near Auckland.

Once again, the event was sold out well in advance with 30 riders showing up for the day’s intensive sessions. The school included lessons on fitness training, jumping and cornering.

Each rider received a merchandise pack consisting of Chad Reed Yamaha lunch box, chain lube or hat. Subway vouchers and sponsor products were also given to outstanding performers on the day.

Fellow Yamaha star Damien King, helped his elder brother with additional coaching and advice. "The track is one of New Zealand's best and gives me plenty to teach the riders. It is really satisfying to see riders improve during the day," King said

The Pukekohe club track is situated 3 kilometres from Tuakau and will host the final round of the National Motocross Championships on October 31.

The event will be televised on TV1 Shell Helix and Sky TV.

The Pukekohe circuit is where Darryll King tasted his first senior motocross success when, as a 16-year-old, he raced to the New Zealand 125cc class title in 1986.
That same season, at the same track, Australian Yamaha motocross team boss Craig Dack wrapped up the New Zealand 250cc title.
