Hi Everyone
The past few weeks have been a bit of a struggle for me as I was informed I
would no longer be on the All Access Team for the AMA Supermoto Series due
to financial reasons. I was lucky that all my other sponsors honored their
commitments with me and with great support from KTM I put together a great
package for the first two rounds of the AMA Series in Colorado.
After a 16 hour drive we arrived in the mountains of Colorado to a popular
ski resort called Copper Mountain. I had decide to race the unlimited class
due to the last minute changes and this was the best package I could get
together in the little time I had.
SATURDAY ROUND 1 AMA SUPERMOTO SERIES:
TIME TRAINING - 2ND (GROUP 1)
HEAT RACE - 2ND
FINAL - DNF
COMMENTS:
My day started out great and my speed was better than I expected due to the
circumstances, I was pushing hard in the final to pass Kurt Nicoll (GB) into
3rd and my carburetor popped off when I landed hard off a jump. It was a
great disappointment to me but I knew then in the back of my mind, I can be
very competitive in this year series.
SUNDAY ROUND 2 AMA SUPERMOTO SERIES
TIME TRAINING - 4TH (GROUP 2)
HEAT RACE - 3RD
FINAL - 4TH
SUNDAY FINAL
1ST: JURGEN KUNZEL
2ND: KURT NICOLL
3RD: MICKY DYMOND
4TH: DARRYL ATKINS
5TH: BEN CARLSON
OVERALL CHAMPIONSHIP STANDINGS - 10TH
COMMENTS:
I worked really hard to have my 4th place as I had to come from behind, I
closed up on 3rd place Micky Dymond but I ran out of time to find my way
around him. I am really excited with my speed and feeling on the bike as I
have only been racing Supermoto this year and all the competitors in front
were world class racers. I know all my weak points and will be working on
them very hard to improve for the next round this coming weekend. I have
been offered support from Team HMC KTM for the rest of the season, so my
NEXT EVENT - 11TH SEPT ROUND 3 AMA SUPERMOTO SERIES NASHVILLE.
