Coppins wins final round of British MX championship.

After wrapping up his first British title with one round to go, Josh Coppins confirmed today at the final round on the Isle of Wight exactly why he is crowned champ.

Coppins again took pole position aboard his factory CAS Honda at the well prepared Gore Basin circuit where he clinched his first ever GP win four months prior.

A hole-shot in race one rocketed the Kiwi into the lead however an early challenge by Tanel Leok gave Coppins some work to do. Lizzard controlled the leading Leok and when the time was right he made his move and raced to victory. Team-mate Yoshi Atsuta had managed to capture second position giving the CAS team a 1-2 finish.

As one of the world’s best hole-shot specialists, Coppins once again lead into the first turn. Team-mate Atsuta followed suit and the CAS Honda duo powered their ways to another 1-2 finish – a great way to finish off the British championships. “This track is really special to me as you can imagine” smiled Coppins “It’s always well prepped and they ripped it even deeper this time which made it great to ride. This was also the perfect way to cap off the season together with the team. With Yoshi in second it made it even better.”
