An update from Brad Groombrdge, the 14 year old from Taupo who is travelling to Ireland to compete in three MXs - on the 27/28 August, the 4th of September and finally an invitation meeting at Bellykelly.
Hi Everyone
Well, we arrived in Belfast - less my Gear Bag, but got it back fairly quickly. Not much time to get the bike ready and get a practice ride in before racing on Friday, the track where the Race Meeting is being held is about 2 hours from Belfast.
I raced Friday and qualified 17th out of about 60 riders then went on to get a 14th and a 12th in the 2 races. Finding the track a lot rougher than in New Zealand and having some trouble with the bike set up.
Saturday I only managed a 20th and a 17th after having an 'OFF' in each race.
I race again next Saturday, so we are trying to do some testing and see if we can get the bike set up a lot better.
Will send an update after racing next weekend.
