SSANGYONG NZ MX CHAMPIONSHIPS - ROUND TWO:

After a day of great racing in front of a large crowd at Rotorua the series leaders are the same as they were three weeks ago.

National 125 Class Daryl Hurley won the first two races and Darryll King who didn’t contest this class in round one, took out the final race. Defending champion, Cody Cooper, was consistent without winning. The top three placings didn’t change after the days proceedings.

Race One – D Hurley, C Cooper, Darryll King
Race Two – Hurley, Cooper, D King
Race Three - D King, L Burkhart, C Cooper

Consolidated points after two rounds – Hurley (Suzuki) 123, Cooper (Honda) 114, Columb (Suzuki) 97, Burkhart 93 (Suzuki), B Morris (Yamaha) 91.

National 250 Class Australian visitor Danny Ham kept his place at the top of the leader board but it was Shayne King who won the day banking 72 points and in doing so closed the point’s gap to three. King desperately wants this skin in its last year- his name appears on the trophy more times than any other rider- he first owned it in 1987.

Race One – S King, N Smith, S Fogarty
Race Two – S King, P Broxholme, D Ham
Race Three – P Broxholme, S King, D Ham

Consolidated points after two rounds – Ham (Aust < Suzuki) 125, S King (Honda) 122, Broxholme (Honda) 120, S Fogarty (KTM) 107, M Penny (Suzuki) 95.

National 500 Class Shayne King had his second win on the day with a bag of 69 points. Darryll budgeted for three wins but only got two due to problems with his bike, which gave the consistent Corrie Sargent a leg up into second overall.

Race Three – D King, S King, Sargent

Consolidated Points after two rounds - S King (Honda) 139, Sargent (Honda) 125, D King(Yamaha) 114, T Carroll(Aust< Yamaha) 110, N Saunders (KTM) 89
