Castrol Honda Red Riders - Press Release:

The Castrol Honda Red Riders shone at Round Two of the SsangYong New Zealand Motocross Championship, at Rotorua today, Sunday August 29.

On a high from their successes in the Australian Championship the team returned to the New Zealand scene and continued their winning ways, on the well-prepared track, the soft loam soil provided for some excellent racing.

Shayne King (New Plymouth) took two wins and a second in the 250cc class on his Honda CR250 and was ably supported by Tauranga’s Peter Bloxholme with a second and a win on his Honda. King, the defending Champion, battled all day with brother Darryll (Yamaha) and team-mate Corrie Sargent (Wellington) in the Open (500cc) class, coming away with a win and two seconds, while Sargent scored a second and two thirds.

Tauranga’s Cody Cooper, recently crown Australian 125cc Champion, took two seconds and a third in the 125cc class, which has been dominated by Hawera’s Daryl Hurley (Suzuki), to complete the successful day for the RED RIDERS.

The championship now moves to Wellington on September 26.
