Katherine Prumm has burst on to the motorcycle scene in 2004 and her performance in Australia where she simply dominated indicates that this young girl has a big future.

Mike Ramsey has supplied this on Katherine.

Katherine Prumm, 16 years old of Bombay south of Auckland impressed all at the inaugural round of the Women’s class at the Ssangyong NZ MX Championships by dominating her competition convincingly. Katherine riding her Team Green prepared MR Motorcycles KX250-F was clearly a class act taking 3 wins from 3 starts.

No stranger to racing overseas with other ladies at International level,(Sugo, Japan) Katherine stripped her suspension, handle bars and plastics from her bike with the help of her team mates flew home and packed her bags and accompanied by her mum/manager caught a plane to Melbourne Australia to compete in the final Australian women’s MX Champs in Wanathaggi.

Under the watchful eye of ex mid 80’s Australia v NZ MR MOTORCROSS Team leader Mike Landman and with the blessing of Kawasaki Australia, Katherine rode the Australian Team Green KX250-F.
The sixteen year old Kiwi girl literally cleaned up, coming from behind in moto 1 to upstage the championship leader Lisa Irwin. Irwin who has been the fastest all year, simply had nothing for Prumm and could do nothing more than to watch her sail off into the distance. Then in moto 2 she did it all again.

Katherine now must attend a corporate meeting at NESTLE H Q in Melbourne by herself, being one of the five people in the final selection. She will have to present an exceptional speech to win the ultimate prize in the Nestle BIG BREAK competition, $50,000.00. But you can bet that she will give it her best shot.

Successful or not, Katherine intends to pursue her dream and dominate World Women’s MX.
