Now Suzuki Australia has announced:

The International motocross sensation, Daryl Hurley will return to Australia to ride for Team Shift Motul Suzuki in 2005.
The 28-year-old rider, who enjoyed success with Suzuki's factory team in 2001 and 2002, has signed a two-year contract to rejoin his former team.

“We're very excited to have Daryl back for 2005 and believe that the international experience he has gained over the last two years will be invaluable to the team,” Glyn Griffiths, National Marketing Manager - Motorcycles, Suzuki Australia said.

Currently, Hurley is racing with the Suzuki-backed Motoworld team on the fiercely competitive American motocross circuit in the 125cc East Coast SX, 250cc West Coast SX and 125 Nationals championships.

The New Zealand-born racer has also been competing on the world stage with Team Motoworld, contesting the THQ World Supercross GP Season where he took victory aboard his Suzuki RM250 at the opening round in Spain.

Hurley's other career highlights include New Zealand national motocross and supercross championship wins, as well as an Australian ADB Thumper Nationals victory in 2000.
Eager to rejoin his former team, Hurley's return will coincide with the Australian race debut of the RM-Z450, Suzuki's all-new four-stroke motocross weapon. “The Australian competition is so tight at the moment… I'm looking forward to getting into some very tough racing and putting the Suzuki RM-Z450 through its paces,” Daryl Hurley said.
“Suzuki has always been a top outfit in Australia and I think we'll have a strong package for '05... I'll be after results and I expect to get them with the Suzuki team.
“Racing in Europe and the U.S. is something I really needed to do, but I've always said that I wanted to come back and race with Jay (Foreman) again.”

Team Shift Motul Suzuki Team Manager, Jay Foreman, is also very pleased about Hurley's return to Australia and the factory team.
“It's a great boost for the team to have Daryl coming back to us next year,” Jay Foreman, Team Manager, Team Shift Motul Suzuki said. “Not only because he's a fantastic talent, but also because we formed a great relationship when he rode with us last time, and that's a huge advantage when working with your riders and developing a new race-bike.
“With Daryl rejoining us and the introduction of the all-new Suzuki RM-Z450 four-stroke pro-open motocrosser, Suzuki is going to have a very exciting racing program next year.”
