The FIM Motocross Grand Prix of South Africa, which takes place at Sun City on 24-26 September 2004, will have some eager new fans. Sun International has set aside over 1000 tickets for members of the local communities. Many children from the villages of Ledig, Channing and Mogwase will be watching motocross for the fist time. Dan Ntsala, manager of corporate affairs at Sun City, has made provisions for 350 tickets per day for members of the local communities.

We are very involved with the local communities and would like them to be exposed to this spectacle. It will be something special for the kids to watch and we feel that by exposing them to the Motocross GP, we can hopefully spark some interest. This will be an ongoing project with educational talks before the race as well as follow up sessions after its completion said Ntsala.

The Sun City MXGP is already creating jobs for the local inhabitants and besides providing employment they want the youngsters to learn more about Motocross so that in future they will be able to educate others. Denver Hendricks, the head of the Department of Sport and Recreation was very happy with the job Sun City is doing. Sun City is providing ongoing support for the local communities and their project will create awareness and spark interest in the sport of Motocross. It is hoped that MSA and Sun City will expand their development program to include the North-West. added Hendricks.

Sun City will be providing transportation, refreshments and seating for 350 children everyday for the duration of the Motocross Grand Prix. In addition to this all the children will be given a tour of the facility and be briefed on the history and current setup of Motocross in South Africa and abroad.
