World Championship Returns to NZ

Following the successful running of the sixth and final Grand Prix of the 2003 World Long Track Championship, the first time the championship had been run outside of Europe, UK and Scandinavia.

Nine-times World Champion Ivan Mauger confirmed from his New Plymouth base yesterday, PUKEKURA PARK; New Plymouth would be the venue again this year for the final Grand Prix of the 2004 World Championship.

The date is set for November 6, a week later than last year.

"Last year’s event was great, but with the expanded programme this year’s will be even better," Mauger said yesterday.

The event is being expanded to include a Motorcycle Show, a Concourse de Elegance along with other Motorsport and associated displays.

New Zealand will again see the World Champion crowned in New Plymouth.
