In a month or three it’s going to be cold and bleak here in NZ so why not join well known NZ based Adventure Ride organiser, Mike Britton, of Britton Motorcycle Adventures on an overseas motorcycle adventures.
First up is:
Bali By The Backroads Adventure Tour:
This is 14 days from June 26 to July 9 on 125cc Suzuki Trail bikes. Don’t be fooled into thinking that Bali is only for shopping, surfing, and sunbathing, there’s plenty of interesting and exciting motorcycling to be had.
Experience the ‘Real Bali’- travel on the small rural backroads, and see places most visitors never get the opportunity to see. Enjoy fantastic culinary delights. Britton has been a regular traveller to Bali since 1989 and knows the island well. This is a small group fully guided and escorted tour.
Tour cost includes; return airfares ex Auckland with Garuda Indonesia, all accommodation, breakfast daily, motorcycle hire (or place in tour vehicle for non-riders), petrol, back-up tour vehicle, transfers, Kiwi and Balinese guides and much more.
Cost: $3450 per person, share twin room ($155 less for pillions)
Venture Into Vietnam:
Is a 21-day motorcycling adventure from August 16 to September 6 starting in Hanoi (north Vietnam) and finishing in Saigon (south Vietnam) on 125cc Minsk Russian trail bikes – the only motorcycle to travel Vietnam on.
This small group, fully guided tour includes newly re-opened sections of the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail though the thick, impenetrable jungle that dominates Vietnam’s mountainous border with Laos.
Those on the tour will be among the first westerners to travel on these recently re-opened sections of the Trail. The tour also takes in the historical remnants of the former imperial capital of Hue, the ancient trading town of Hoi An and a number of exotic beach resorts such as Nha Trang.
Many left-overs of the American war such as Khe San, the A Lou firebase, China beach, the Saigon Rex Hotel, Da Nang, Vietnamese war museums and the DMZ (Demilitarised Zone) will also be included in the tour. Those on the tour will visit the stunning Ha Long Bay and even stay overnight in a traditional Tay hill tribe village.
Tour cost includes; return airfares with Singapore Airlines, accommodation, motorcycle hire, petrol, most meals, Ho Chi Minh city, Hanoi and Cu Chi Tunnel tours, Halong Bay cruise, back-up tour vehicle, accompanying mechanic, transfers, English speaking and Vietnamese guides and lots more.
