Pauls 1st & 2nd

Posted: Wed 07 Apr 2004

The opening round of the 2004 Fast Eddy UK Cross-Country Series was wet and muddy.....

Paul Whibley said: \"I dropped it in the first corner but managed to pick the bike back up again pretty quick, which meant that I was a little way behind but still in touch with Paul for most of the opening lap. He then managed to work his way through the lapped riders a bit quicker than I did. I lost contact with him then because he was charging ahead so I decided just to look after the bike, ride my own race, and make sure that I finished.

\"The conditions are certainly a little different to what we get back home in New Zealand, there were some huge ruts out there, but it was good. I wasn\'t really racing for most of the race; it was a case of surviving. I\'ve made a few too many messed up results lately so to finish second here is really good.\"

Round two: 23rd May Tong Hall
