Heather Clinton, on behalf of the Ruapehu Motorcycle Club,
recently presented Guy Beange, pilot of the Tranz Rail
Rescue Helicopter, with a cheque for $500. This money
represents a share of the proceeds from the recent Manfield
Track Day organised by the Ruapehu Club.
A delighted Guy explained that about one third of the
Rescue Helicopter funding comes from public fundraising and,
as 60% of their work involves accidents or illness where
patients are transported to a major medical facility, it is
appropriate that groups such as motorcycle clubs contribute to the running of this
service.
