SUZUKI NZ ENDURO CHAMPIONSHIPS

The 2004 SUZUKI NZ Enduro Championships start this Saturday at Oparau near Raglan. The Championship comprises six rounds concluding in August.

Last year’s champion Chris Birch (Auckland) will again be two stroke favourite after competing in the International Six Day Event: in Brazil late last year. Birch is a member of the MNZ High Performance Programme.

Veteran, Sean Clarke, will possibly be the hardest to beat again in the four-stroke class.

New Zealand’s position in international Enduro is on the rise. The 2006 International Six-Day Enduro has been allocated to New Zealand. This on the back of Tauranga born Stefan Merriman’s win in last years world championship.

Paul Whibley (Marton), also in the High Performance Squad, finished eighth in the same class as Merriman, he will be absent this weekend as he has returned to Europe to start his 2004 Campaign:

SUZUKI NZ has had a long association with the NZ Enduro Championships. The Wanganui based motorcycle distributor has backed the series again in 2004.
