Ago stars in big bike meet.

The biggest number of ordinary entries (270+) and the biggest motorcycle crowd in many years came to watch Agostini and the MV\'s. Although the meeting honoured AJS maestro Jock West and Len Perry, including a memorable retirement lap for the 86 year old accompanied by Agostini & Hugh Anderson on the MVs, it was obvious that the Italian superstar was the center of attention. The hugh crowd remained right up until the last demonstration to applaud Giacomo and thank him for his visit. An unofficial reading of one of the MV\'s registered a dB of 114!!! Truly ear-splitting stuff. With the 350 and the 500 (let alone the fantastic 6 cylinder 350) out on the circuit there was enough noise for a whole field of bikes.

The Britten put on a crowd pleasing display with Andrew Stroud doing wheelies, stoppies, and burnouts as he displayed his mastery of New Zealands most famous motorcycle.

With the cream of New Zealand talent on display, including Ginger Molloy, Hugh Anderson, & Rod Coleman most people would have left the Pukekohe at the end of the day satisfied that they had been part of a very special motorcycling experience and hoping that Agostinis first visit to NZ won\'t be his last.
