Gwavas:

Don\'t let anyone tell you different - Sunday 21st September was a cold wet day in Gwavas forest.

The stream was out because it was too high but that didn\'t mean that the course wasn\'t challenging. There was more than one person who admitted to walking their bikes down some of the greasy root-covered drops and several people cited the cold as a contributing factor in deciding to post a DNF.

It wasn\'t all doom and gloom though - CHB had arguably the best run event of the year and their BBQ (including two spit-roasted sheep) was a winner. I also overhead quite a few positive comments about the course - \"a challenge\", \"a great time\", \"a bit of a tester\", & even \"so, who wants to do that again?\" (Did I mention that it was cold?)

Sorry that the comments are a bit short of details, but I spent as much time as possible inside and in front of the computer. I can say that it was great to see Paul Whibley who had carb problems, in the RESULTS: and also a real eye-opener to see how quick Chris Birch is. Let\'s hope that he can produce similar results at the ISDE in Brazil.
