Stefan Merriman crowned World Enduro Champion for 2003
Merriman led the race after the third test and distanced himself from Salminen in the last lap to take the overall win by 12 seconds. Merriman\'s class rival, Samuli Aro finished third overall and second in the class.
Stefan wrapped up the 250cc 2 stroke World Enduro Title the day before the final race as he now has a 39 point lead and the maximum Aro could gain on Sunday is 25 points. The overall win today puts Merriman 2 points in front of Salminen in the overall standings, a win tomorrow could secure the second title for the Kiwi-born Aussie.
