MNZ - Press Release.

High Performance Squad:
King and Stroud Lead the Way:

With 40 of New Zealand’s top young riders wanting to be considered for MNZ’s High Performance Programme the selectors need to be on their game. With top international riders Darryll King (Off Road) and Andrew Stroud (Road) on the panel we have two riders who have experienced the commitment needed to survive in world motorcycling.

King, a former world number two, has just returned from winning the Australian Motocross Series. His selector colleague, Andrew Stroud is the current NZ Open Road Race Champion and has competed internationally including World Superbikes.

The squad will be announced next week and the programme will commence in July. The programme is totally funded by Motorcycling New Zealand and is entering its second year.

With a proud history of 22 World Titles and current top NZ performers including Ben Townley, world number two Josh Coppins and two winners at the Isle of Man this week the programme is designed to make sure Kiwi riders remain at the top of the world.
