Qualifying Well Underway For The New Zealand Long Track Grand Prix.

Qualifying for a position in the FIM World Long Track Championship is well underway with the completion of two rounds of qualifying in France and Germany. The listings for the two Semi-Finals, at Saint Macaire (France) on June 8 and Harsewinkel (Germany) on June 9, were released on May 19

The inaugural New Zealand Long Track Grand Prix: the sixth and final round of the FIM World Long Track Championship, will be run at Pukekura Raceway in New Plymouth on November 1. The field for this event will be made up of the top Six finishers in last years Championship and Six from each of the above mentioned Semi- Finals.

The top three in last year’s championship were Robert Barth (Germany), Kelvin Tatum (Great Britain) and Gerd Riss (Germany). These gentlemen are respectively the 2002, 2000 and 2001 World Long Track Champions.

Not only will New Zealand see the crowning of the 2003 World Long Track Champion, we will be able to see three past Champions racing against each other for that crown.
