Ben Townley`s Progress:
Well, I\'ve just got back from seeing the doctor for my first check up on the op on my wrist.
After my x-rays were examined I had a new plaster put on my left forearm. I was told that everything is in place and should be back to full working order once I am out of plaster in 6 weeks. It\'s been two weeks since the operation when they re-broke the fracture and took some bone marrow from my hip for a graft. They put the bone marrow into my wrist after they had put it back into the correct postion, and then a plate was screwed in over top to hold everything in place while it heals.
From here I have exercises to do and at 6 weeks the plaster will be removed when I will start rehibilitation. The doctor has told me it would be about 12 weeks from my last race until I am ready to ride again at top speed.
Thats all for now but I will update on how things are going, in the meantime I am still training hard in the gym 3 times a week, running, road cycling and swimming now with this new waterproof plaster. Bye for now.
Take Care
