HUSQVARNA PRESS RELEASE - ENDURO TEAM 2003:

The team is known for its 42 world titles and is the top enduro team in the world. Lead by the expert and determined Fabrizio Azzalin, the team this year is composed of riders of prestige with its principal ambassador being the legendary Anders Eriksson.

For the Scandinavian, the goal for the 2003 season will be winning for the 7th time, a result which will make him the the rider with the most wins in the history of Enduro racing, on par with another famous enduro rider , Kari Tiainen (won 5 out of 7 times with Husqvarna). Eriksson will be racing in the 450 4T category with the new twin arm 450 TE Husqvarna. Like Eddie Seel in Supermotard, Eriksson will also race with the 100 number to commemorate the 100year anniversary of Husqvarna. In the 250 4T category, Team CH confirms its faith in the expert and reliable Roberto Bazzurri. The two time Italian world champion is eagerly waited in the international arena where he will be racing with the latest Husqvarna 250 TE. In the two stroke category Fabrizio Azzalin will manage two young promising champions of enduro: the Finnish Saarenkosky and the New Zealand national Paul Whibley.

Saarenkosky will have to defend the team in a category that has always been Husqvarna’s exclusive battle ground (two titles in the last two seasons). Whibley will race in his first enduro world championship to gain experience and to make use of his great ability to race on fast and tough tracks. Therefore Husqvarna’s strategy is to have two experienced and reliable riders in the difficult 4T class and two young riders with great potential in the 2T class. A team of riders and bikes which will make Husqvarna a real contender in the national and international 2003 season.
