Merriman leads the 250cc 2 stroke class after Round 3 in Greece

By- Lexy Thorogood:

Warm and dry conditions prevailed on the second day of racing in Greece. Merriman dominated the 250cc 2 stroke class once again but was unable to match the speed of the 500cc bikes in the motocross test. After two riders suffered concussion (Bergvall and Oblucki) and one had a broken collarbone (Bergvall) the enduro test had to be altered as it was too fast and dangerous. This meant that it had to be pre-ridden on the first lap and only timed on the subsequent two laps. Merriman managed to beat his main rival Aro by 22 seconds overall, gaining most of the time in the extreme test and enduro test.
Merriman now overtakes Aro as the leader of the 250cc 2 stroke class after Aro finished third today to French rider, Freddy Blanc.

About the second day in Kalavrita, Merriman said, \"Overall a good day for me. I felt great on the bike today. The track got quite rough and bumpy towards the end of the day. I was unable to match the 500\'s today but I made progress today, gaining valuable points in the championship against Aro. \"
