Motard Stuff:

Hi Motarders:

It\'s been a (another) big few weeks for Motards:

Bike Mart Supermoto
All the riders certainly seemed to enjoy themselves. \'Best one so far\' was an often over heard comment. Nigel Healy was in devasting form. Taking every race he entered. Everyone knew he was going to be a handful as the \'Bike Mart Supermoto Cup\' winner was not only riding well but had a very professional approach and his big KTM going real well. Rees slipping at the final hurdle to have Whyte take 2nd over all. Former Supermoto race winners Briggs and Symes grabbing bags of points along the way.

Stock wheel classes a hit:
The \'Lights\', \'Sportsman\' and \'Open stocker\' classes were a big hit. The \'Sportsmans\' class provided some fantastic racing with Suzuki dealers Mark Whyte (Whyteline Suzuki) and Russell Josiah (Bike Torque) scrapping on their DRZ 400\'s with Mr Motorcycles Scott Wilkins (RM250). Whyte took the days honours from Wilkins but not without a whole lot of scrapping along the way. Dean Mabey (YZ250F) was positively sensational. Dominating the Lights class and at times keeping the Sportsman riders at bay. Mabey showed that with no 125 two strokes to take on the big bikes, a 250 four stroke was well up to the task . Mabey finished 14th in an \'A\' grade race out of the 39 entrants for the day. Watch out for a huge field of \'Lights\' next season once the MX fraternity work it out. The \'Open Stockers\' had a great mix with different bikes really going hard.

Thanks to...
Too many individuals to mention but thanks to BikeMArt, Acerbis, Metzeler, Dunlop, Mr Motorcycles in Pukekohe and Wheels of Thames.

More Supermoto\'s to come?
As far as we know at this stage, riders will have to wait until the dry weather returns next summer for more Supermoto action. There is plenty of supermotard stuff going on though. Just check out Supermotard.co.nz Wellington had 18 motards turn up at one of their \'bucket\' meetings and this kind of riding, as we\'ve said before, is a great way to get a feel for the sport. The Auckland club are having motards at their bucket meeting this Sunday (practice Saturday morning) so get along to the Mt Wellington kart track. The \' Bike Mart Supermoto\' will be an annual event so talk to someone who was there and we\'re sure they\'ll tell you to mark down Sunday the 14 of March 2004 for the next one. There is also a wee rumour of a series over summer...again Bike Mart and the website will keep you posted.
Oh and before I forget check out the website for photos and also HERE: for some excellent photos from the weekends event.
