Kiwis move up the ranks in Australian Motocross Nationals:

The second round of the Australian Motocross Championships was held at Appin NSW over the weekend. The meeting proved to be successful for New Zealand Castrol Honda Red Riders - Shayne King and Cody Cooper after a mediocre start in the first round. Shayne King finished first overall in the 250 and open class on his CFR450R. Shayne won two of the three motos, whilst older brother Darryll riding for the Boost Yamaha Team won the remaining race.

For Shayne it was a welcome respite after his unfortunate start to the season a week earlier at Connondale, where he only managed to score points in one of the weekends three motos due to a huge first race crash in which he suffered muscle damage to his neck and shoulders.

In the 125cc class, Castrol Honda Red Rider Cody Cooper riding his CR125R took second place in the Appin round behind Yamaha’s Troy Carroll.

Despite the first round woes, both Kiwi riders have elevated themselves to fourth place in their respective classes.

Race Team Manager Dave Borlase said, “We are delighted with the results from this round and look forward to the third round in Horsham VIC to be held on the 13th of April”
