Husqvarna Press Release:

Enduro World Championships
Salamanca (Spain) - 2nd Race

SECOND PLACE FOR ERIKSSON (HUSQVARNA) IN SPAIN:

A very atypical race characterized the second appointment of the World Enduro Championship run in Salamanca, Spain.

The races held on the cross fields and enduro special tests revealed to be the tough, whilst the enduro track did not cause any particular difficulties to the participants. The riders were all close in the times and the overall registered level was rather flat.
Good performance for Anders Eriksson on his Husqvarna TE 450 that battled on an unfriendly circuit finishing third in the first race. Place of honour for him instead on Sunday’s race, second behind Mickalik.

Eriksson still leads the provisional classification of the World Championship class 450 just in front of Mickalik that leaped into second position. The Swedish World Champion outdistances him by 10 lenghts. Team Husqvarna CH Racing gained other two successes on the Spanish arena with Saarenkoski and Bazzurri that both respectively finished third in the 125 class and 250 4 stroke. Unfortunately, the riders were not able to repeat the great performance on the second racing day and gained a fifth place. Fantastic contest for Guillaume, the French rider assisted by the importer SIMA Guillaume , who finished fourth in the 250 class.

In this same class instead, the New Zealand Paul Whibley still has difficulties finding the right pace and only positioned himself sixth and tenth in this second World Championship race.

The third race that was scheduled for the coming Sunday in Marocco has been cancelled due to the war in IRAQ.
