Kiwi Wins Factory Ride:

In a surprise announcement, the NZ Husqvarna importer has revealed that top Enduro rider Paul Whibley will race in the World Enduro Championship this year. Based in Italy, Whibley will ride for the official Husqvarna factory team run by CH Racing - the team responsible for last years 3 World Championships and I.S.D.E. domination. Whibley has achieved considerable success in New Zealand riding mostly two stroke bikes so it is almost certain he will ride the WR250 two-stroke Husqvarna in the four-man team.

Redline manager Dallas Rankine said that the Husqvarna factory had been keen to sign Paul for some time but that contracts had been delayed due to the change in ownership and management. \"It is a relief to have Paul finally signed to ride with Husqvarna this year as he is a world class talent and I\'m certain he will achieve great things in Europe. The European contract supposedly on offer from another manufacturer never eventuated so now Paul can plan the year with more certainty\" Rankine said. \"Unfortunately this also means Paul has had to cancel his plans to ride for Honda in NZ this year and I would like to thank Blue Wing for their cooperation\".

Whibley is a past NZ Enduro Champion, North Island Enduro Champion, NZ Cross Country Champion, current open class Australian Enduro Champion and has won many other off road events both here and in Australia.

The factory team is looking to repeat the success of last season with wins in both the World championship and International Six Days Enduro. Riders will compete in 125 and 250 two-stroke classes and also on the new 250 and 450 four stroke bikes.
