AMA SuperCross etc.

Round 2 ot the AMA SX series at Phoenix AZ was won by Kawasaki`s Ezra Lusk from the hard charging Aussie, Chad Reed. RC was 4th!

The sole remaining Kiwi in the competition, Daryl Hurley, finished a creditable 9th in Heat 1 and 12th in the LCQ - so did not qualify.

Josh Coppins and Ben Townley have both been knocked out because of fairly severe injuries which has prompted a correspondent to write;

\"Is it worth our top riders competing in the States in Supercross? Why are they over there? Is it the money? I can understand them riding in the outdoors series?\"

Yeah, he has a point. Of course it is the money in the end, and why not. But Kiwis are certainly out of their natural environment [and out of their depth in the world scene] in SX and that is the correspondents point. Outdoors MX and Endurance type events are the strengths that Kiwi riders bring to off road motorcycle sport.

Speaking of that, what has happened to Paul Whibley?? He seemed well suited to an AMA GNCC or WEC career.
