Trevor Gill, MNZ CEO has also written that the rumours reported in the article: Oceania MX in Doubt? are unfounded and that:

\"The Oceania MX is definitely going ahead as scheduled and is being organised by The Kapi Mana Club. Mike McLeod is the Event Manager. Mike ran the tournament last year and his continued in the role this year. He has done an excellent job as a volunteer event manager.<

The FIM are major funders of this continental event as well as a number of commercial backers that Mike McCleod has worked hard to secure. Some of the larger partners, including the local authority, have stayed on from last years highly successful event.

Fifty two Australians are on their way as well as the President of Oceania and MA\'s CEO , David White. The Australian Team is managed by Bruce Wilkinson. The Singapore Government is sending a representative to observe the event on the strength of the reputation it has.

There are some issues with age groups as Australia have different rules for junior to senior graduation. This will affect some individuals but not the event itself.

The position of Motorcross Commissioner reports directly to me.Like the other Commissions this is a 3 year appointment. I have not received a resignation from the current MX Commissioner.Mike (Big Mac) has done a sterling job in the role.
