As you know over the weekend of 17th and 18th of October
the annual Womens and Vets champs were held near
New Plymouth.
Everyone arrived on Saturday to find a paddock full of
steep hills and bogs but the track turned out great thanks
to the Adamson family. When I signed on, being eleven, I was
the youngest in the junior women 8-16 years class.
My brand new 99 Honda CR 80 ran perfectly on both days thanks
to Co-op Honda Motorcycles and Bryan Davison who travelled
all the way over from Palmerston North.
The track got really
rough and after a bit of bad luck I finished 6th overall.
The vets racing was very exciting with stars like Mitch Rowe,
Tony Cooksley and then the old guys like Craig Siddall doing
stuff. The racing between the front runners of the senior
womens class was also very fierce. Mitch Rowe and Tania Satchwell
were the champion of champions cup winners.
Womens results were
SENIOR WOMEN | 1st | Tania Satchwell |
2nd | Jamie Lee Caldwell | |
3rd | Shelley Hickman | |
JUNIOR WOMEN | 1st | Melissa Beuck |
2nd | Cheryl Cotter | |
3rd | Hayley Ruddock |
