Organisers have been working hard to make sure of some great new trails for Suzuki Desert Storm 2002. With the help of a skidder (11 tonnes of earth moving machinery), and large work crews, over 20 km of new trails have been found to replace most of the road sections used in 2001. Included are some new single track to keep riders on their toes.

Near the top the Karioi forest at the base of Mt Ruapehu, plus along the Rangipo Desert edge, most of the trails remain similar to make sure riders get to experience some unique and scenic trail action. The two MX tracks remain for people to stop by and have a hoon.

The two main trails Eastern loop 60 km and Western loop 51 km will be open both days plus the novice and mini tracks. A special smaller track will be saved for Sunday to keep the interest high for those riders riding both days.

Entries are flowing in steadily from riders keen to take advantage of the entry discounts, pre ordered army meals and the chance to win a brand new trail riding jacket by Orina.

Plus don’t forget the mind blowing freestyle motocross jumping demos Saturday night, free coaching all weekend, free camping (separate quiet and noisy zones), a big marquee for socialising, groovy sounds, a cinema including video footage of the weekends activities, comprehensive and competent medical back up, free mechanical service plus parts and accessories for sale.
