Shipping Your Bike:

Posted: Sun 06 Oct 2002

If you are interested in these particular trips or maybe considering crossing the ditch with your own bike some time in the future it may be worthwhile to take note of the following. Dave Milligan is a Kiwi living in Australia:

*************************************************************

We've been shipping Aussie owners bikes to NZ (via Chch) for tourism and racing purposes for 3 years now and expect to ship over 200 this coming Summer. Good, Eh? Aussies coming to Kiwiland and spending their hard (not really) earned.

The NZ bikes to Aussie is a first time effort and I'm unsure how it will go. Hopefully we'll have a full container of bikes, and if so it will become a regular service about the same time each year.

We also take Aussie clients bikes to the UK each year - some wanting to do their own tour of the UK and or Europe and also do our own guided tour of England, Wales, Ireland (including the NW200 meeting in Northern Ireland) Scotland and 10 days at the Isle of Man TT Festival. Other options to our guided tour are the Barcelona MotoGP (week after the TT), the Dutch TT at Assen and the Brit MotoGP at Donington Park.

Am currently working on a new project to take clients bikes to the UK for self guided tours of Europe (and the UK if requested) with assistance from us and Peter Thoeming (of Australian Road Rider mag) by way of maps, routes to ride and good pubs to stop at and all the camping facilities for the budget conscious. For this project the bikes will be available in the UK from Aug 25 to Sept 29. Our UK depot is in Ipswich which is just a short ride to Harwich which has a direct ferry service to Rotterdam.

Anyone interested in attending the Mudgee AGM in April 2003?
I'm shipping a bunch of Kiwi bikes from Chch and Auck. 5 weeks in Aus on your own bike from March 6 to April 9.

Take in World Superbikes 30 March, Harley World Tour Sydney 12-14 March or AGM 4-6 April or just go touring.
