Although Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, Sweden, Ireland, Czech Republic, Portugal, Denmark, Brazil, Venezuela, Costa Rica and a couple of other countries will be attending Bellpuig, the calibre of the riders is not the highest available for a lot of those teams.
Not attending are; USA, Canada, Australia and South Africa and now this official statement has been issued by MNZ.
No Kiwis At Motocross des Nations:
It was confirmed yesterday from Motorcycling New Zealand's headquarters in Huntly, that New Zealand will not be sending a team to the revamped Motocross des Nations in Spain.
The event was originally scheduled to be run at Competition Park, California, USA on September 27/28/29 but due to problems experienced by the promoters, the event was postponed and moved to Bellpuig in Spain on October 19/20.
Motorcycling New Zealand's CEO Trevor Gill, explained that with the non availability of our world championship riders (Josh Coppins and Ben Townley) due to their commitments elsewhere, and the difficulty being experienced in sourcing competitive motorcycles for a possible replacement team, no team from New Zealand would attend
