Blue Wing Honda NZ MX Champs - Round 4:

The latest round was proudly hosted by the Kapi Mana Motorcycle club on Saturday and Sunday the 21st and 22nd of Sept. The track had been set up on a rolling block off land overlooking Upper Hutt beside the new subdivision of Riverstone.

Saturday saw the running of 2 practice rounds and 1 race round. in fine but cool conditions. Racing was fast and furious and the support Quad race was spectacular to see.

Sunday however…GALE northerlies soon dropped several tents and had teams and spectators huddled behind any shelter they could find. A quick round of practice and straight into the 1st Races off the day, with some great skills and battles being fought.
The jumps were deemed to be a possible danger in the cross winds and so between round 1 & 2 the diggers levelled them.
However as the 125’s lined up to start round 3 off the RAIN hit & being blown by the winds it was not the most pleasant of conditions.

A riders meeting was called after waiting to see if it was a passing squall and the decision was made to call off the last 2 rounds for the day. A disappointing result, however squalls kept hitting most off the afternoon.
