After securing a ride/sponsorship at the last minute, Kiwi Bruce Anstey scored a podium result with third place in the Road Racing Ireland Superbike Race:
The finish order was:
1st Ian Lougher, 2nd Richard Britton, 3rd Bruce Anstey.
Bruce finished 13th in the Stannifer/Snoddons Ulster Grand Prix.
Fellow Kiwi, Shaun Harris finished 16th in the 1000cc Proddie race.
A tragic accident occurred on the first lap of the Ulster Grand Prix when Gary Jess was killed instantly on the first lap. He had earlier finished runner up in the 600cc Production race.
