It is reported that Niki Urwin of Tauraunga has serious spinal injuries and is in a drug induced coma after he was injured while competing in the Thumper Nationals in Wonthaggi, Melbourne.
Niki is thought to have fallen from his Kawasaki and been hit by a following machine, crushing his chest. He is understood to be paralysed at this point of time.
That is terrible news and I am sure all readers will wish him a sucessful and speedy recovery.
Niki, age 23 is currently 3rd overall in the Blue Wing Honda National MX series.
