TRAIL BLAZING IN TAUPO:
Looking for two days of great trail riding in the sports events centre of the North Island? Then look no further than 14-15 September in Taupo.
From Epic Events, who organise Suzuki Desert Storm, comes the Trail Blazer, another classic two day trail ride.
The event is located in the Tahorakuri forest on State Highway 5, just 15 km North East or Taupo.
The forest is of rolling terrain with a maze of old logging tracks to negotiate. Single track sections provide the buzz for those who like the tighter trails. The soil type is free draining volcanic ash making for great all weather traction plus the famous central North Island bumps and berms.
There will be two main trails open each day of at least 40 km, plus a kids and novice track.
Coaching for kids will be provided by a Kiwi Rider Coaching Senior Trainer. So Parents get to ride stress free.
A paddock right next to the forest provides parking, camp sites and a great base. A central marquee will provide the base for socialising, dining and shelter.
Camping on site is free of charge. Of course riders may like to choose a warm motel in Taupo, just 15 minutes from the events base.
Tasty lunches, dinner plus drinks will be available with pre order entries.
There will be motorcycle parts and accessories available on site along with full mechanical back up. Break downs or breakages should not mean the end of the fun!
Also don’t forget Desert Storm – 19-20 October, Karioi forest for another two day trail ride blast around Mt Ruapehu.
